A smooth generational change as well as handover of roles and responsibilities to a new management team will be implemented in BHJ A/S from the turn of the year.
After more than 22 years as CEO and President, Vilhelm Hald-Christensen has decided to retire from his position to take up new challenges as European Business Development Director focusing on strategic business development for BHJ’s American owner, The Lauridsen Group Inc. Vilhelm Hald-Christensen will reside in Luxembourg.
Furthermore, Vilhelm Hald-Christensen will become Chairman of the Board of Directors of BHJ A/S.
Vilhelm Hald-Christensen has developed BHJ into a modern, streamlined company with revenue of approx. DKK 2 billion and more than 700 employees worldwide. Today, BHJ is a strategic partner for some of the world’s leading food and pet food companies.
As from the turn of the year, Senior Vice President Ove Hansen will retire after more than 42 years in BHJ. Since the foundation of BHJ in 1969, Ove Hansen has been instrumental in the development of BHJ’s feed and pet food activities. In future, Ove Hansen will act as Senior Adviser focusing on development of new business areas.
New management team
In future, BHJ A/S will develop the business in two individual business areas – Ingredients and Meat and by-products.
Senior Vice President Asger S. Jacobsen will be appointed CEO and President of Ingredients, and Vice President Torben T. Matzen will be appointed CEO and President of Meat and by-products. Bjarne Hansen will continue unchanged as CFO and Executive Vice President. Together they will form the new management being responsible for the continued global development of BHJ.

At the same time we emphasize that as a market leader within manufacture and sale of meat related products for the food, feed and pet food industries, we aim at developing our strategic partnerships based on our two individual business areas, Ingredients and Meat and by-products”, says Vilhelm Hald-Christensen.

The new management will take over responsibility as from 1 January 2012.
